Introduction
We believe that Honeycomb Calcite is the most beautiful natural stone in the world. Millions of years in the making, when it is taken out of the ground, shaped and polished, it glows in shades of gold, amber and sunlight yellow like no other stone.
If you like to give totally unique gifts, this is the place to find them!
The golden variety is found only in Utah. Honeycomb Calcite brightens any room you put it in. If you light it with one of our illuminators, or a tea candle, the stone will command the attention and admiration of everyone who sees it. Using several pieces as a table centerpiece will create a beautiful presentation that your friends will remember for a long time.
This stone was discovered in the mountains of Utah, almost accidentally, in the Summer of the year 2000 when some workers crashed into a boulder of it with a tractor. With the plain-looking white rock broken open, they were amazed by the color of the stone inside. A sample was taken to the University of Utah which declared this golden variety a previously-undiscovered mineral. For this reason, Honeycomb Calcite is almost completely unknown.
Honeycomb Calcite was first presented in local Utah street fairs but, in the last days of November 2002, we showed Honeycomb Calcite at the Christmas Gift and Craft show in Spanish Fork, Utah. People who stopped by our booth thought our stone was man-made, mistaking it for soap, candles or glass.
All the honeycomb calcite pieces you will find here are hand made by our artisans. No two pieces are alike. There is no such thing as a matched set.
Our sculpture items are one-of-a-kind pieces. These show an inventory level of "1." When one of these is purchased, it immediately becomes unavailable to everyone else.
